Sitting here on my day off and thought I'd stick the news on to see what's going on. Bugger me. London is going bang. It started with reports of a single explosion in Aldgate, thought to be a power surge. But then there were others on the tube and then there was a bus in Tavostock Square which has its top deck (and the passengers up there) sprayed all over BMA House. That's where it is at the moment - 10:32.
The newscasters are trying so hard to get someone else to say the word "terrorism" first. Certainly, the power surge theory can't really refer to electrical power on a London bus. G8 in Scotland. Olympic success yesterday. We really seem to have the focus on us at the moment. Certainly a good time for a terrorist group to get themselves noticed.
Well that's my day - sitting in front of BBC News 24 watching it develop.

- I hate "About Me" boxes. If all goes according to plan, you'll get to know me through the blog. If it goes according to expectation, I'll forget about the blog in about 6 hours and move on to the next thing in my life. You know Jack off Will and Grace? That's me (but straight). I'm a GP, an ex-member of a Male Voice Choir, a practising Roman Catholic. I think a lot, and come up with lots of ideas that seem so right until I share them with someone else. I wish I could keep my mouth shut longer and think more before I get carried away and blurt out my thoughts. I'd be really clever if I did that. I've given up on dishonesty - believe that if you dare. I'm always open to criticism, and occasionally act on it. I like to laugh, and to make others laugh. I hate confrontation, and would always strive to see your point of view and question my own (even in matters of faith), but only enjoy engaging discussion if you will do the same for me. It has to be about coming together, not entrenching unconnectable positions. I worry that the religious stuff on here will seem holier-than-thou. It's not meant to, so if it makes you sicken, please tell me.
